Hunter Communications, a Southern Oregon based Telecommunications Company, CLEC and ISP, was founded in 1992, providing service for local area networks, wide area networks, and everything in between. In 2000 Hunter started building an all-fiber network throughout Medford with the vision of a Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) in rural Southern Oregon. Due to the growing needs of our customers Hunter expanded to provide advanced technical support and engineering solutions with the intent of becoming a sole source provider, capable of handling any telecommunications or networking needs.
We continue to build Southern Oregon's only local MAN which supplies speed of light connectivity and satisfies all high bandwidth needs throughout the Rogue Valley (both Jackson and Josephine Counties) and the Klamath Basin. With our pure fiber backbone and last mile infrastructure we connect Southern Oregon's Educational Systems, City and County Governments, Healthcare and Financial Institutions, and Businesses of all sizes, on our dependable, commercial grade communications network.
Our long-term vision is to create an infrastructure which will not only keep Southern Oregon competitive by leveling the technical playing field, but will also stimulate local and statewide economic growth by removing previously existing technological barriers. The Hunter Network provides the ability to connect to a 100Mbps/1Gbps pure fiber backbone and helps businesses remain highly competitive in today's global marketplace. In fact, by advancing the communications capabilities of Southern Oregon it is possible to attract new companies and businesses to the area and thus make the region a choice location from which to conduct business. In this way, Hunter Communications is helping make Southern Oregon a true communications hub and future model for facilitating local economic growth and global commerce.
Since inception, Hunter Communications has risen to the many challenges of bringing self-healing, high-speed fiber optic networks to businesses, agencies and governments in Southern Oregon by configuring creative financing and build-out scenarios. Our efforts have resulted in unprecedented new communications and connectivity resources for a number of previously disregarded rural communities, including over 100 school sites.
